Orchid Brooches

An orchid brooch is a floral pin inspired by the orchid’s distinctive petals and sculptural flower shape. Designs can range from delicate single blooms to curved stems finished with crystals, pearls or enamel.

Orchid designs often have a more asymmetric, sculptural silhouette than rounded flowers such as camellias. Their curved petals and pronounced centres also create a noticeably different look from lilies, roses and other classic floral motifs.

Look first at colour and silhouette. Pink and purple crystals create a richer floral statement, blue enamel feels more contemporary, while pearl, gold and silver designs are easier to coordinate with a neutral wardrobe.

Crystal orchids emphasise light and sparkle, making the flower feel more jewel-like. Enamel gives the petals smoother areas of colour and can highlight their sculptural curves. Designs combining pearls with either finish add a softer point of contrast.
